It seems everyone is learning Denton County is the best place to live, work and raise a family. In the last 10 years, Denton County has grown 38%, more than doubling the rate of Texas’ growth. With this growth, we have seen our roads get more congested, leading to longer commutes, and delays to our first responders heading to emergencies.
Proposition A will fund vital improvements to widen, resurface, and upgrade roads and bridges throughout our community to increase safety, reduce traffic, and divert cross county travelers away from our schools and neighborhoods.
In the last two road bond approved by voters, Denton County turned each local dollar into $17 of matching state and federal money. That’s $8.5 Billion in outside matching funds! A great return on our investment without raising taxes.
In fact, Denton County just lowered the property tax rate to the lowest level in over a decade and now has the lowest county wide tax rate of the 15 most populated counties in Texas. Denton County consistently runs a fiscally responsible budget that has earned a ‘AAA’ Bond rating from Moody’s. Denton County works hard to keep spending in check.
